Gusset Plates tab

Contains settings that define the gusset plates of the steel truss.


Gusset plates list panel

Displays the current settings for the gusset plates. Highlight a member in the list to make changes.
Tip: Gusset plate columns are resizable and movable using the mouse's click and drag functionality.
SettingDescription
Blank column This column contains the gusset plates at each member starting with End 1, followed by vertical members V1, V2, etc, and ending with End 2. Click the selection menu next to the V# field to open the selection list. You make the selected member the same as the member in the associated drop-down list by copying properties from other member.
Family Part Sets the family and part of the gusset plate. Select the Family Part values from the combo box opened by clicking the down arrow next to the value field.
Top Plate Columns to set top plate dimension data are provided.
  • Top Thickness — Enter the thickness of the top of the current gusset plate.
  • Dimension A — Enter the distance from the panel point to the left edge of the selected top gusset plate.
  • Dimension B — Enter the distance from the panel point to the right edge of the selected top gusset plate.
  • Dimension C — Enter the distance that is the height of the selected top gusset plate.
Bottom Plate Columns to set bottom plate dimension data are provided.
  • Bottom Thickness — Enter the data for the bottom of the selected gusset plate.
  • Dimension D — Enter the distance from the panel point to the left edge of the selected bottom gusset plate.
  • Dimension E — Enter the distance from the panel point to the right edge of the selected bottom gusset plate.
  • Dimension F — Enter the distance that is the height of the selected bottom gusset plate.
On/Off When checked, sets the gusset plate as "on" which enables setting its parameters. When unchecked, member parameters are displayed in grey.
